……..HR Focus Awards celebrates best performances in the Industry in style!
The HR Focus Awards 2017 crowned the conference with a grand and classy celebration at the banquet hall yesterday. This year’s events meted out over 22 prestigious awards across all industries, rewarding the HR Function in various institutions for exceptional work over the past two years. At the end of the night, telecommunication giant, MTN, came out as the “Overall Best Company in HR Management” in Ghana, with Mrs. Benneh-Amponsah –MTN Ghana taking home the award for HR Practitioner of the Year.
Ghana’s largest telecommunication service provider was the recipient with the highest number of awards for the night as they recorded at total of 5 awards which included ‘Best HR Management in Telecommunication and IT’, Employer of Choice’, Best Organization in Organizational Culture’, and ‘Best Organization in HR Information Systems’.
In a speech at the awards, Mr Kwesi Agyeman Busia, the Chief Executive of DVLA said, “HR Focus Magazine has performed a laudable feat, consciously awarding the broadening scope of HR in the various fields of work”.
Also in attendance was the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, who presented the “Employer of Choice” Award.
Other winners for the night were Best HR Management in Financial Services : Fidelity Bank, Best HR Management in Hospitality : Accra City Hotel, Best HR Management in Energy & Natural Resources : Tullow Oil, Best HR Management in the SME Sector : Herbalife, Best Organization in Learning & Development : Vodafone Ghana, Best Organization in Employee Relations : Vodafone Ghana, Best Organization in Rewards Management : Barclays Bank, Best Organization in Performance Management : Airtel Ghana, Best Organization in Recruitment & Selection : Vodafone Ghana, Most Promising Organization in HR Practice : Amaris Terminal, Promising HR Management in the Public Sector : Food & Drugs Authority, Promising HR Management in the Finance Sector : Omni Bank, Promising HR Management in the Healthcare Sector : Lister Hospital, Promising Organization in HR Information Systems : Genser Energy, and Promising Organization in Recruitment & Selection : Old Mutual, Promising Organization in Performance Management : Expro Gulf.
The HR Focus Awards was the climax of a two day programme which commenced on the 12th of October as the 5th edition of the HR Focus Conference and Awards and comprised a forum, a career development session with seasoned industry personnel, a national business challenge for tertiary institutions, and the HR Focus Awards coupled with corporate exhibitions.
