King (Prof.) Odaifio Welentsi 111 the Paramount Chief of Nungua
Traditional Area at his palace yesterday stated that the king was
satisfied with the presentation from Charter House. “Your letter has
received warm reception. I have been further directed by the King to
inform you that he is a lover of music and also a qoirister. Therefore,
in that regard, you have his blessing and p

Another influential authority in the Ga traditional area, the Wor – Lumor Konor Nuumo Borketey Laweh Tsuru Gborbu Wulomo – Shitse Overlord of the Gadangme State, stated the need for proper documentation of the agreement between the two parties to ensure the sustenance of the event yesterday in Nungua as he received officials from ‘Charter House’ and Florex Sports. “For us to have a smooth take off, we must be bound by a certain agreement so that every year, as we roll out the programme, we will be committed to these ideals. We don’t want to do this just for the fun of it, therefore, there needs to be a well outlined priority. Therefore, in as much as we appreciate and accept this noble gesture, and the fact that we want this year’s festival of Nungua (Nungua Afi) to go international with a new image and more mileage, it is very important that we document the terms of the relationship in order to bind the two of us”, he explained.
Head of Communications at Charter House, George Quaye, explained why they chose to be part of this year’s Nungua festival. “Having visited many places and experienced many festivals, we’ve been inspired by the awe and beauty of the Nungua festivities and believe we ought to throw more light on it for the world to come and experience the culture, the people and the splendour of this important festival. ‘July in Nungua’, in partnership with Florex Sports Media has come to stay and come Saturday July 13th, we ask the world to make it destination Nungua”, he said.
Actor John Dumelo and television presenter Johnny Hughes were part of the well known faces who graced the occasion yesterday in Nungua to show their support for the initiative and the Ga community.
‘July In Nungua’ will be an annual event that will coincide with the traditional festival of Nungua called ‘Kpledjo’.
