Last week Tuesday at the live eviction show of season 8 of the MTN Hitmaker Reality TV talent show, the first two evicted from the competition, ‘Mimi’ and ‘Senam’, felt the ‘blade’ of the voters ‘axe’. Tomorrow at the National Theatre in Accra, the finalists with the least votes again will also exit the competition. Singer ‘Mimi’ in an exclusive interview with Shine Publications said her exit came as a surprise to her but added that it was not the end of her music career.
The MTN Hitmaker Reality TV Show has produced chart topping musicians in Ghana over the years. Names like Kuami Eugene, Kidi, OV and Mr Drew, are synonymous with hit songs and music lovers across Ghana. These are proud products of the MTN Hitmaker Reality TV Show in Ghana. This year, the battle for the number one spot in the competition has begun. Singer Mimi was the last of the 12 Finalists of the competition but failed to proceed in the competition. However, ‘Mimi’ has remained focused and is pushing on with her talent. “I had the talent already but the competition only helped me showcase my talent. I’ll still do music and pray for the best. I always say “thy will be done”, she said. Though confident in herself, she stated that the announcement of her eviction from the competition came as a surprise to her. “I felt very down because I never expected to leave the competition so early. I was the best vocalist and after my song “Brother Man”,when the judges told me I was boring on the beat, I planned to come out differently during the rest of the weeks”, she said.
Singer ‘Mimi’ named her two favorites for the competition and also had some advice for the organizers of the show. “I feel like the organizer needs to analyze the whole show and let the best win. I believe in Kofi Pages and Ali Baba because they have the potential to make it, and honestly, they were my competition”, she explained.
