‘MTN HITMAKER 8’ Gets Tougher as Finalists ‘Go Hard’ with Creativity and Showmanship to Wow the Audience and the Judges.

Day 4 of the ‘MTN Hitmaker Season 8’ reality TV show was very entertaining to say the least, as the remaining finalists of the competition showcased creative illustrations onstage, and their individual unique talents to emanate loud cheers from the audience at the National Theatre in Accra last week Tuesday. This was part of a series of live eviction shows preceding the grand finale of the competition. The judges were impressed by the amount of creativity and seriousness most of the contestants put into their acts and commended them for it.

As the grand finale draws closer, the remaining finalists of season 8 of the MTN Hitmaker reality TV show have taken their performances a step higher. Last week was evidence that the finalists were out to impress not only the crowd but the judges as well, as they performed their own songs with a touch of creativity and showmanship. Some of the most memorable performances of the evening received encouraging comments from the judges. Finalist Ali Baba particularly caught the attention of guest judge Stonebwoy with his onstage freestyle. “I don’t know if u were hinted that I was gonna be here, but if not, you were spontaneous”, Stonebwoy said. One of the favorites in the competition, Kofi Pages, also received praises from the judges. “The truth is you don’t have the best voice but, you carry something inside you called hit”, said judge ‘Kaywa’. And rapper ‘Lasmid’ who was once in the bottom three for eviction, reminded the judges why he was selected as a finalist for the competition with a creative performance and a catchy chorus. “I think you are now getting into your groove and I am beginning to appreciate you more”, said judge ‘kaywa’ . “Finally, you have proven to people why we selected you to be part of this competition”, added judge ‘Eazzy’.

But the night wasn’t all fun as there was a brief moment of sadness when the evictees for the week were announced. Both Derrick and ‘Singer P’ had to exit the competition as a result of accumulating the lowest votes for the week. The judges expressed their unhappiness at the announcement. “This is very sad. Both of you are super talented”, said judge Richie. But, guest judge ‘Stonebwoy’ had some motivational words for them. “It doesn’t end here because this is only the beginning. You can only prove the world wrong by rising from this point. This shouldn’t determine how your musical career ends”, he added.
