A ‘Meet and Greet’ session with the press which should have taken off in the late afternoon and had many press men and celebrities at the Kempinski Hotel, was later moved to 8:30pm. But, what made the celebrities leave was the lack of communication from the event organizers after spending over 2 hours waiting for ‘Cardi B’ to show up. They failed to alert the guests on the development and kept assuring them that Cardi B would join them soon, until about 5pm, a representative from the organizers of the Livespot Festival told the guests that the meeting has been moved to 8:30pm . This angered a lot of the press men and celebrities present as they angrily left the hotel.
One celebrity who could not keep the anger inside her, media personality Afia Schwartznegger, ranted in public to register her displeasure against both Cardi B’s action and her team.
Afia Schwartznegger is one
of the most controversial yet vocal celebrities in Ghana. Known for
verbally attacking politicians and high ranking officials in the
society, she has generated quite a following on social media as well as
carved a reputation for speaking her mind. She expressed her
dissatisfaction at the Kempinski Hotel when news broke about the
postponement of the meeting by raining harsh comments on ‘Cardi B’ and
her team and throwing away a Ghc 800.00 VVIP ticket for the show.
“We have been sitting for a long time, and then, the next thing we hear is that Cardi B will be available at 8:30pm; foolish people! Do you know how much my time costs? I attend weddings for just 40 minutes and I am paid Ghc 10,000.00 which is an quivalent of US$2000.00 and you expect me to sit here and wait for Cardi B? The cheap, talentless and ‘fameless’ celebrities who need her can stay. I am Queen Afia Schwartzenegger”, she explained.
Other celebrities present for the ‘Meet and Greet’ session at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra were actress Salma Mumin, Sandra Ankobiah, Nikki Sammonas, Afia Odo amongst others. The meeting was later recalled in the evening on the same day and had some of the previously angered celebrities attending. However, Afia Schwartznegger did not go back for the second time.
