Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson over the weekend on Friday 6th December 2019, premiered her new film ‘Fix Us’ at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra. In an exclusive interview with Shine Publications, the actress stated that producing the film was fun for her and asked the fans to endeavor to see it. The director of the film, Pascal Amanfo, also stated that the real challenge was not in shooting the movie but maintaining standards set for oneself and public reputation.
Actress Yvonne Nelson is one of the most hardworking actresses in Ghana. After giving birth to a baby girl, the actress has not relented to the pressures of motherhood and has persisted in her career as an actress. ‘Fix Us’ is her second feature film this year and she said it was fun for her. “Making ‘Fix Us’ wasn’t challenging because it was actually fun shooting this movie. It is something I have been doing for a while and so I enjoy it. ‘Fix Us’ is till showing in Cinemas so I urge you to come out with friends and family to see this amazing movie”, she said.
The director of the film ‘Fix Us’, Pascal Amanfo, who has worked on 6 movies with Yvonne Nelson in a space of 7 years since 2012, explained the real challenge for him in making this film. “Every project or film comes with its own challenges no matter how long you have been on the job. So yes it was particularly challenging in terms of the story and also when you have been around for a long time. The Public begins to expect so much from you and therefore, you want to make your most recent project different from your previous works; since they say you are as good as your last job”, he explained.
The movie ‘Fix Us’ features a cultural variety of actors as the cast comprises talents from Nigeria, Ghana and other Francophone countries. It also starrs international Ghanaian actor Prince Dave Osei, Yvonne Okoro and Michelle Attoh. Yvonne Nelson was also the recipient of the award for the ‘Actress of the Year’ at last year’s edition of the Ghana Movie Awards.
