The General Manager of ‘Gh One’ television Nana Aba Anamoah yesterday responded to critics via a live video chat on social media saying she does not have a habit of watching pornography because she does not understand the idea behind it. Her response was necessitated by a recent complaint by viewers of a late night show on television channel ‘Gh One’ which showed a sexual and nude video. Though she already apologized on behalf of her company and the station for the unfortunate incident, some people still went on to attack the popular television presenter saying the incident was intentional. Therefore, Nana Aba Anamoah described the incident as a sabotage and added that watching pornography was not part of her lifestyle. She made this statement from her residence in Accra.
Ghanaian television personality Nana Aba Anamoah who was recently appointed as the General Manager of ‘Gh One’ television, has been criticized by some members of the public especially on social media for airing a video with sexual and nude contents on a late night show on ‘Gh One’ television channel. Despite officially issuing an apology to the viewers, some people feel the action might have been deliberate. Therefore, the ace Ghanaian presenter responded yesterday saying watching pornography is not part of her lifestyle and described the incident as a sabotage. “I don’t watch pornography because I don’t understand the concept of ‘porn’. I know people who do watch porn but I don’t judge them. Showing the video was a sabotage. However, the apology I gave was necessary and I didn’t have any problem apologizing. People who were upset about it have the right to complain as this was unacceptable on our part. But, I am not the kind of person who sits and cries over spilled milk. It was an experience and we have all learnt from it”, she said.
Known for hitting back hard at critics, Nana Aba Anamoah described people who just wouldn’t let the issue rest especially after her apology on behalf of the company and the channel as frustrated. “I think people are bored and unemployed and people say all sort of things on social media. But guess what? Not a single one of them has affected me”, she said.
