The Ghana Arts and Culture Awards has officially called for submissions for nominations in this year’s edition of the awards scheme. The filing for nominations will be only online. The Event Manager of the awards scheme Frank Saka, said the new process of submission was due to precautionary measures against the spread of the Coronavirus. He added that 2 new categories will be included in the nominations this year. This was stated in a press release on Friday 12th June 2020.
The Event Manager of the Ghana Arts and Culture Awards (G.A.C.A) Frank Saka, explained the reason for the new mode of submission for nominations and the addition of the new categories to the scheme. ” We are in a time where there has been a restriction on movement and social distancing. Therefore, we are urging all prospective nominees to visit our website at www.gacagh.com/nomination or send nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org to file for nominations; adding all relevant materials which the Board may need to make their final decision. Also, this year, we have added 2 new categories namely ‘Outstanding Theatre Performance’ and ‘Arts and Culture Media of the Year (Radio)’. These have been added to appreciate those in those sectors who are promoting the Arts and Culture in Ghana.
The Head of Communications and Research at G.A.C.A Mike Frimpong, emphasized that the public has from June 12th to July 31st 2020 to file for nominations.
This year’s edition of G.A.C.A is in partnership with the Ministry Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ghana Tourism Authority, National Commission on Culture, Folklore Board, Tourism Society of Ghana, and sponsored by GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Liberty Industry and Joy Industry. The event is organized by the Arts and Culture Company.
