On Sunday 21st June 2020, the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra treated guests to a special buffet in honor of the Father’s Day celebration. The event was held under very strict protocols to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. Staff of the hotel wore personal protective clothing at all times, and guests were repeatedly reminded of precautionary measures against the pandemic such as social distancing, compulsory wearing of masks; except when eating and others. The Food and Beverages Manager of the Golden Tulip Hotel Marshall Otu, stated that guests responded positively to the new protocols by cooperating with the staff of the facility. He also said that the management of the hotel was appreciative of the turnout inspite of the high reluctance of the public to attend such events amid the Coronavirus pandemic. He stated this on Sunday in Accra in an exclusive interview with Shine Publications.
Speaking to Shine Publications, the Food and Beverages Manager of the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, Marshall Otu, described implementing the new Coronavirus safety protocols as smooth. “So far, we haven’t faced any challenge with our guests because this is an exercise that everybody has already acquainted themselves with; even before we opened, so the guests were more than happy to follow our directives”, he said.
Management of the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra further expressed optimism in terms of future patronage of their services. “The Golden Tulip Hotel is known for providing the best services in the hospitality industry and I am glad that we are one of the first hotels to test the market after the restrictions have been eased. So, we are just going to build on what happened today; even though patronage wasn’t exactly what we expected, but nevertheless, it was ok. And, I’m sure attendance would be increased in the coming weeks”, said Marshall Otu.
Finally, the Food an Beverages Manager Marshall Otu, explained the concept of the ‘Sunday Buffet’ at the hotel. “It’s not just about ‘Father’s Day’ because, the best ‘value for money’ Sunday Brunch in Accra is at Golden Tulip Hotel, and is currently happening every Sunday. So, what we are saying to the public is that, every Sunday, Golden Tulip is the place to be with your family. Plus, we are very prepared to follow the necessary protocols to ensure their safety as well as the safety of our employees”, he said.
Staff at the food and beverage section of the Golden tulip hotel, used disinfectant wipes to clean plates before used by guest; even though plates were already washed. Also, touch – free hand sanitizing machines were placed at strategic points all around the hotel. Management of the facility has assured that such provisions will remain in place to ensure the safety of guests.
