Sarkodie Is Not Sure of ‘Rapperholic 2020’ Coming Off

Multiple award winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, today stated in a live video broadcast on social media that he was not sure if his annual sold out rap concert would be coming off this year. His response might not come as a shock to many as the restrictions on crowded large capacity gatherings in Ghana by the Government, as a result of the Coronavirus crisis, has halted major entertainment events in the country. He stated this from an undisclosed location in Accra.

Currently Ghana’s biggest rap export, especially after winning the award for ‘Best International Flow’ at the BET Awards in the United States of America, Sarkodie has increased his fan appeal and reputation as an ace musician. But, his gigantic loyal fan base may miss the hugely patronized annual rap concert which celebrates the rapper’s musical legacy every year dubbed ‘Rapperholic’. “I don’t know if Rapperholic will be happening this year”, he said briefly during a live interactive video broadcast on social media today. Some of the fans responded positively still hoping that the concert will take place.

However, Sarkodie is not relaxing as he is scheduled to host his first ever live virtual concert dubbed ‘Black Love’ virtual concert on on the 16th of August 2020. The concert will include performances from other Ghanaian artistes like Stonebwoy, King Promise, Highlife legend Amakye Dede, Efya, KiDi, Sista Afia, and others. Patrons will be required to stream the live broadcast on the website to enjoy exclusive performances from the aforementioned names.
