On Friday 21st August 2020, Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui, a model signed to the Exopa Model Agency, was crowned the winner of Ghana’s premiere and longest running beauty pageant Miss Ghana. This year’s edition was not open to the public and transmitted live via the internet due to the Covid -19 crisis. The Manager of the Exopa Model Agency Abu Saddick, said that he was glad that models are stepping out into the light to explore other areas. He added that such a win was a motivation to upcoming models to be focused and determined in whatever they do. However, he said that such victories were not new to the Exopa Model Agency. He said this in an exclusive phone interview with Shine Publications yesterday from Accra.
The Manager of the Exopa Model Agency Abu Saddick, in expressing gladness about the crowning of his model Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui as Miss Ghana 2020, explained that the Exopa Model Agency was in the habit of grooming and churning out women ambassadors. “This is not the first time our model is winning Miss Ghana. Naa Okailey Shooter, a former Miss Ghana, was also our model, including Nadia Ntanu and Lady Diane. And just like Monica, they were all trained in the art of walking, taking professional photos and even acting. So, this is something we have been doing since 2009 and we are still doing”, he explained.
Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui is currently 23yrs. She enrolled in the Exopa Modelling School in 2016 and after going through a modeling course for a year, she got signed to the agency in 2017.
According to the Manager of the Exopa Model Agency Abu Saddick, the agency would be partnering Monique as she executes her official duties and social projects as Miss Ghana 2020.
