The 21st annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Festival is scheduled to climax with a three – day music celebration from Friday 28th to Sunday 29th, 2020. According to the organizer Charterhouse, the event dubbed the V.G.M.A Weekend, will celebrate the steep nature of Ghanaian culture, vivacious music, and iconic Ghanaian musicians. In a press release today from the organizer, the Head of Communications of Charterhouse and Public Events Robert Klah, stated that though attendance to this year’s edition would not be open to the public, it would still feature the creme – de – la – creme of Ghanaian music; as well as honor Frontline health workers who are battling against Covid -19 in Ghana. Therefore, the event will be televised live on selected viewing platforms.
According to a press release by the organizer of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, this year’s edition will embody excitement and a sense of community service. “30 awards will be presented at 2 exclusive events on Friday 28th and Sunday 29th August at 8pm each night. And on the 30th of August, the frontline workers of Covid -19 will be honored with the VGMA Covid -19 Hereos Concert; also starting at 8pm. A galaxy of stars is billed to thrill a million -plus audiences with exciting performances. They include El, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Adina, Kofi Kinaata, Medikal, Kwesi Arthur, Akwaboah, King Promise, Eno Barony, Strongman, Celestine Donkor, Ras Kuku, Efya, Kofi Mole, Episode and more”, the statement read.
According to the organizer of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Charterhouse’, unlike previous years, there shall be no ticket sales in attempts to prevent the further spread of the deadly Coronavirus. Therefore, the event will be strictly by invitation for a very limited number of people. However, music lovers can enjoy the V.G.M.A Weekend from the front seat of the comfort of their homes by watching the live broadcast of the event on Tv3 in Ghana, Soundcity TV, The Base TV, Rok Ghana on DSTV and GOTV in Africa, and world-wide via the internet on MTV Base. Also, thw Ghana Music Awards social media pages will stream the event live each night at 8pm.
