The second edition of the Ghana Arts and Culture Awards has been announced for the 14th of November at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra by the organizing company. Like last year, this edition will see a tight competition between nominees in various categories. Earlier on, the organizer ‘The Arts and Culture Company’, stated that Board adhered to very strict but fair principles and criteria to come out with the final list of nominees and so, submissions that couldn’t make it through should not be disappointed.
“Every nomination was carefully looked at before approval and so everyone nominated deserves to be there. Also, those who did not make it shouldn’t feel bad but work harder for next year”, a representative said earlier on.
Among the heavyweight competitors at this year’s event will be Ghanaian musicians Wiyaala and Sherifa Gunu who will compete with other deserving nominees for arguably the biggest award for the night. Also present as a nominee is award winner at the Kaduna International Film Festival Actress and Film Producer Rabby Bray.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Ghana, Ghana Tourism Authority, the National Folklore Board, and the Tourist Society of Ghana.
