After rescheduling from an earlier date, organizers of the annual ‘Golden Movie Awards Africa’ NMJ Ghana, have announced this Saturday 19th December 2020 as the day for the event. The movie awards scheme will host some of Africa’s top celebrities at the Grand Arena in Accra in the early hours of the night as they celebrate the most inspiring and exemplary films made in Africa. According to the Director of African Affairs of the awards scheme Wilhelmina Adani Michaels, this year’s celebration will honor filmmakers who managed to produce good movies despite the Coronavirus pandemic. She stated this in an earlier press release some days ago.
“The scheme intends to celebrate all nominees and honorees in an extra special way this year for defying all the challenges posed by COVID-19 to put Africa on the world map through film”, she stated.
Earlier, the event scheduled for the first week in December, was postponed due to the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in the country. However, the organizers have assured that all tickets which were bought remain valid.
At the official launch of the event on Accra in November, glam wasn’t too far away as top Ghanaian actors like Nadia Buari, Akorfa Edjeani, and others graced the occasion in style.
