Multiple award winning musician ‘Sarkodie’ has announced that his annual rap concert ‘Rapperholic’ will be coming off this year. The rap icon stated in a video on social media which he released a few days ago that, though he initially was sceptical about the event happening this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, his team have agreed on holding a special edition of the highly patronized rap concert with under limited sitting capacity for die hard fans.
“It’s been a dark year for a lot of people with lots of lives lost. We weren’t prepared for this, but we are still here and give thanks to God and pray that we make it. I’ve been going back and forth with the team about the most anticipated show in Ghana, because I wanted to skip 2020 and prepare for 2021 God willing. But, the team were insisting that we do it because the fans need it; especially in these times. So, I’m hyped up for 25th December, but obviously, we can’t do it like we always do due to the pandemic, so watch out for the details…”, he said.
The video has already received over 63,000 views on Twitter and over 38,000 views on YouTube and counting. The venue for the event will be the Grand Arena inside the Accra International Conference Centre on the usual date 25th December. The event will definitely have some of Ghana’s top musicians as usual blending rap with other music genres.
