Ghana Music Awards U.S.A 2021 To Bridge the Musical Gap

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Music Awards in the United States of America (U.S.A) Dennis Boafo, stated at the press launch of the Ghana Music Awards – U.S.A 2021 in Accra on the 17th of December 2020, that the main purpose of the awards scheme is to help upcoming Ghanaian musicians based in the United States of America to connect with the music market as well as their counterparts in Ghana and vice versa. He explained that this would create a mutual relationship between both sides and facilitate the growth of Ghanaian music.

Addressing a group of press men on preparations being made towards the third edition of the Ghana Music Awards – U.S.A 2021, the Chief Executive Officer Dennis Boafo, stated that it was necessary for the Ghanaian born talents in the United States of America to be recognized at home. “This initiative is to foster unity between the artistes in Ghana and Ghanaian artistes in America, and also to project the American based Ghanaian artistes to Ghanaians at home and vice versa”, he explained.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Music Awards – U.S.A  Dennis Boafo, said there were plans to invite top American celebrities to the event next year. “We were in talks with some people who had connections to Jamie Foxx and a few other American celebrities who initially were going to attend our maiden edition. But, due to the Coronavirus pandemic plans changed. But, we are still working on bringing some of them for next year’s edition”, he said. 

The third edition of the Ghana Music Awards – U.S.A is scheduled to come off on the 7th of August 2021 at the Tropicana Hotel in New Jersey in the United States of America. He added that admission would be by the purchase of tickets at a price which would be announced at a later date. Also, according to the organizer, interested persons from Ghana and anywhere but the U.S.A would be required to pay for all their expenses while attending the event.
