The Director of Operations at the Creative Arts Council Frank Owusu, has described the Ghana Models Awards as relevant and part of the Creative Arts fraternity in Ghana. He said this during a presentation of a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ by the Ghana Models Awards Secretariat to the Creative Arts Council a few days ago in Accra for their support during last year’s event.
A few days ago at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, the Founder and Executive Director of the Ghana Models Awards Jerry Wonder Sampson, presented a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ to the Creative Arts Council for their support during last year’s edition of the Ghana Models Awards. The Director of Operations at the Creative Arts Council Frank Owusu, had pleasant remarks. “We want to appreciate the Ghana Models Awards for carrying out this good initiative last year and now, it has come to stay. This event has now been added to the ecosystem, and whether we like it or not, it has become part of us”, he said.
Frank Owusu added that such initiatives were necessary and played a significant role in growing the Creative Industry in Ghana. “We need to acknowledge the efforts of all these creative people, so together, we can build a better creative ecosystem and creative economy”, he said.
Furthermore, the Director of Operations at the Creative Arts Council Frank Owusu, stated that, now with the Creative Arts Bill passed by the Parliament of Ghana, the Creative Arts Council will now be able to support such programmes. “The Creative Arts Council appreciates initiatives like this, and now that we have the law passed, we will now be able to do ‘big ticket’ events and exhibitions like this which will bring our people together to play on the world market”, he said.
