After thrilling fans with some classic Reggae and Highlife tunes at the maiden edition of the ‘Independence Day Concert’, the organizing company ‘Charterhouse’ has announced award-winning Ghanaian musician ‘Kuami Eugene’ as the headline act for the second edition of the ‘Independence Day Concert’ scheduled for Saturday 6th March 2021. However, due to the presence of the deadly Coronavirus, Charterhouse has also stated that, unlike last year, fans would have to enjoy the concert from the comfort of their homes; this means that fans wouldn’t have face – to – face contact with the artistes.
In an exclusive interview, the Head of Public Events and Communications of Charterhouse Robert Klah, explained the purpose of the event. “Last year we had an independence concert headlined by Kojo Antwi and Steel Pulse, and we are continuing within that space. But, obviously, it has to be virtual because of restrictions on social gatherings”, he said.
Kuami Eugene is the reigning ‘Artiste of the Year’ as a result of winning the overall award at the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards; Ghana’s biggest and longest running music award scheme. The show feature performances from other popular musicians and will be open to fans across the world on www.charterhouse.live from 8pm GMT.
