Ghanaian Rapper and Founder of Hiplife Music Reggie Rockstone, has described the life of late American Hip Hop Artiste DMX also known as Earl Simmons, as a life of challenges. Nevertherless, he said the Hip Hop icon was a inspiration; even outside Hip Hop. His words came as a tribute to the late Rap Icon following the sad news of his passing today. He said this in an exclusive interview with Shine Publications today in phone call from Accra.
Reggie Rockstone was a pioneer of mainstream Hip Hop music in Ghana which eventually gave birth to Hiplife. The rapper, did not mix words when it came to speaking about fellow Rapper DMX. “DMX is bigger than just being a Hip Hop artiste. DMX could preach and get you to understand Christianity even sometimes more than some Evangelists; no wonder the devil had been trying to snatch him ever since. But, I can say for sure that, looking at what he had been through, and still believing in the existence of God, I know he is going back to the Father”, he said.
DMX was pronounced dead today by some members of his family through various media reports. He died in a coma after suffering a heart attack some days ago. He was a Grammy Nominee and a Multi – Platinum selling artiste.
