‘Rapperholic’ Has Absolutely No Competition This December! … Sarkodie Declares

Celebrated Ghanaian Rapper ‘Sarkodie’ yesterday released a video on social media containing a freestyle in which he talked about this year’s ‘Rapperholic’ concert. The Rapper stated in braggadocio lyrics that there was no contender for his usual date of 25th December this year, and therefore, anyone who would dare him would be found wanting. Also, despite delays in officially announcing the date for the event, the video was well received by many of his fans on social media.

Rapper ‘Sarkodie’ went quiet on his annual concert ‘Rapperholic’ this year. Many speculated that the show wouldn’t be coming off due to Covid – 19 and other alleged issues. Even, fellow musicians ‘Shatta Wale’ and ‘Medikal’ released posters online announcing the ‘Freedom Concert’ for the same date reserved on the entertainment calendar for Sarkodie’s ‘Rapperholic’concert. But, Sarkodie explained his silence in the video on social media. “I intentionally went quiet a bit because I was taking precautions…it comes to us naturally because we ain’t got to force it…on the 25th if December is ‘Rapperholic’. Chale, planning for this year’s own (event) will be solid…please follow protocol so we can prevent Covid…see you 25th December; go grab a ticket”, he said.

Sarkodie added that this year’s ‘Rapperholic’concert wasn’t going to happen because he needed to make money, but rather because of his fans. “…This is Christmas. This year, talking of music, I have piled this much…anybody compared to me is a mismatch. See, you all thought that I was going to ‘bitch out’. I can choose to do that, after all, I’m rich now. But, it’s for the fans, so I don’t want them to miss out”, he said.

The multiple – award winner named a few tracks off the official playlist for the concert to wet the appetite of his fans. The songs he mentioned imply that Sarkodie is going to take fans through a journey of his career to the present day. Some of the songs he mentioned were ‘Rollies and Cigars’ and ‘Cochella’ which are from his latest album ‘No Pressure’. He added ‘Adonai’ featuring the late ‘Castro’, ‘Happy Day’ featuring Kuami Eugene, and ‘U Go Kill Me’ featuring ‘EL’ which were also part of previous hits.
