The reigning Miss Ghana Monique Agbedekpui, on Tuesday left Ghana to participate at the 70th edition of the Miss World Pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was very excited about the experience and thanked all who supported her to make it this far in a post on social media. Monique will join other national representatives from around the world to compete for the title of Miss World 2020.
In a what appeared to be an emotional show of gratitude, reigning Miss Ghana Monique Agbedekpui expressed her gratitude to many for their support shown her through her journey this far. Among them was popular musician ‘Becca’ and husband. “In a the challenges, God still gave me the strength of not giving up. A very big thank you to each and everyone for being there for me during the hard times. And, to my Godmother and Godfather Becca and Dr. Tobi Sanni Daniel, the good Lord who sees in secret will surely reward you openly”, the statement read.
Other names mentioned on the gratitude list were the Chief Executive Officer of Exclusive Events GH. and franchise holder of Miss Ghana Pageant Inna Patty, celebrity dancer ‘Dancegod Lloyd’, Fashion brand ‘Duaba Serwaa’, ATL Fabrics among others.
Due to the emergence of the deadly Coronavirus around the world, the annual Miss World Pageant could not come off last year. Therefore, winner of Miss Ghana Monique Agbedekpui and her counterparts for the year 2020, will be participating in this year’s edition which actually should have been organized last year. Therefore, Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica who won the Miss World Pageant in 2019, will crown her successor at this year’s event.
