Grammy award nominee ‘Stonebwoy’ is set to register his name in the history books of Reggae Dancehall in Africa by hosting and performing alongside Jamaican legendary Reggae and Dancehall artiste ‘Beenie Man’. Both will be on stage at the annual BHIM nation Concert scheduled for the 21st of December 2021 at the Grand Arena in Accra. According to Stonebwoy, the BHIM Concert represented more than just a business opportunity to him but a testimony of his musical legacy. He said this today in an interview on local television channel TV3.
Stonebwoy will be the first musician in Ghana to perform side by side Reggae Dancehall legend ‘Beenie Man’ on home soil. This will heighten his status both in Ghana and abroad as indeed, a Reggae Dancehall great. He expressed his excitement an joy in an interview today. “Everybody can’t wait to hear the King of the Dancehall…”, he said.
Stonebwoy also acknowledged the fact that the BHIM Concert is impacting and growing his authority as a Reggae Dancehall artiste. “…It’s a business venture, but I do it mainly for my people, and to keep up the legacy”, he explained.
Reggae Dancehall legend ‘Beenie Man’ also added his voice to the excitement during the live television interview on TV 3. “Everybody is going to be there, so if you re not there, then, you are nobody”, he said.
Stonebwoy and Beenie Man have a previous hit called ‘Shuga’ and will be performing this including other songs at the concert. Quite a number of Ghanaian musicians have had other laudable international collaborations but, no many have been able to bring their international counterpart to perform the song together on home soil. Beenie Mann has a previous collaboration with Tuface Idibia from Nigeria and Reggie Rockstone from Ghana. Beenie Man has also been to Ghana several times including performing at a concert hosted by Ghanaian radio station Citi FM.
