The Head of the National Film Authority (N.F.A) Juliet Asante, has made a clarion call to potential investors, both in Ghana and abroad, to take advantage of current opportunities in the film industry in Ghana. Speaking at an event hosted by the National Film Authority yesterday at Marriott Hotel in Accra, she emphasized that exploring film for it’s financial benefits can also impact the economic growth of the nation.
National Film Authority Boss Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante was very rigid in her presentation on whether film could become a viable business venture. “When countries are looking for ways to rebound, a lot of people are looking towards the creative sector… Especially at this time, in the post Covid period…”, She explained.
The pioneer Actress and now N.F.A Boss, stated that it was imperative that filmmakers be supported as the Ghanaian legacy depended on it. “Today’s event is about how we support our creatives to tell the stories that we need to tell; the kind of stories that represent us and shows us where we want to go”, she said.
Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante was speaking at an event dubbed the National Film Authority meets Corporate Ghana. The event was part of series of initiatives and discussions the National Film Authority has embarked on to improve and encourage investor confidence in the Ghanaian film Industry since it’s inception.
