Popular social media company Twitter, has partnered the 23rd edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (V.G.M.A).
According to ‘Twitter’ Senior Partner Manager, Bernard Sokpe, the partnership was necessitated by the consistency in delivering top entertainment with talents from Ghana over a long period of time. The Head of Communications and Public Events at Charterhouse Robert Klah, described the partnership as an assurance of more fun at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. The news of the partnership was made know in a statement released by Charterhouse earlier today via social media.
In very few words, the Head of Communications and Public Events at Charterhouse Robert Klah, has summarized the benefits of the ‘V.G.M.A Twitter’ partnership to fans as ‘more fun’. “We are happy to walk the path with a global tech giant. This can only mean one thing, exciting times ahead.”
Also highlighting the need to throw more light on the celebration of music in Ghana through the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, ‘Twitter’ Senior Partner Manager, Bernard Sokpe, described the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as a fulfilled event and therefore the decision to partner the V.G.M.A was an easy one. “The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, has over the years, lived up to its mandate. It’s been consistent in organizing exceptional shows, while pulling together movers and shakers in the Ghana music industry. With a conversation span between 4 to 5months, the partnership was a no-brainer.”
The ‘Twitter V.G.M.A’ partnership promises to give prominence to V.G.M.A related conversations on Twitter by highlighting the excitement of the red carpet, thrilling moments of artiste performances, and the memorable winning celebrations; including the high-profile personalities who will be in attendance.
Therefore, social media giant ‘Twitter’, has created a customized hashmoji to authenticate V.G.M.A conversations anywhere in the world. The hashmoji created, is the acronym for the 23rd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. This appears whenever #VGMA23 is typed in a tweet. Other hashmojis include #VGMA2022, #VGMA23onTV3, #VGMA23Unsung, and #VGMA.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has a reputation for flooding various social media platforms with numerous materials from the event ranging from videos and photos of performances and red carpet moments, to emotionally charged conversations about the likelihood of nominees winning what; and even, winners who according to some, didn’t deserve to win.
The V.G.M.A has had very high engagement over the years from the public due to its inclusive approach in awarding nominees. The event employs a two way strategy by allowing the public to vote at absolutely no charge via the official website www.ghanamusicawards.com, or by texting the code of their most preferred nominee at a minimal charge to 1767 via Vodafone network only.
