‘Ogbozo’ Movie Sweeps 3 at Emerging Movie Awards Ghana 2022

Filmmaker Destiny Omon arrived at the 3rd edition of the ‘Emerging Movie Awards – Ghana’ on Saturday at the Silverbird Cinemas to pick up 3 awards for his movie ‘Ogbozo’. ‘Ogbozo’ won in the categories for Best Story, Best Cinematographer, and Best ‘Gaffer of the year’. Destiny Omon, who is also the President of the Nollywood – Ghana Chapter, expressed his delight after receiving the awards.

With smiles on the red carpet after the show, Filmmaker Destiny Omon had a few words of gratitude for the public. “I want to say a very big thank you to everyone that made this possible. My crew, my cast, everybody I say God bless you. Especially my Co – Producer ‘Wandy 5’ in the United States of America, Dr. Aveeh in India. Everyone that made this possible, this is for you. This is for Ghana, this is for Nigeria. Nollywood – Ghana Chapter this is for you”, he said.

The actual people behind the camera whose efforts were celebrated as the movie ‘Ogbozo’ won multiple awards were Kwame Awuah and Chris; who were the names who worked on the cinematography for ‘Ogbozo’, and Charles Appiah who was also the Gaffer for the production.

‘Ogbozo’ tells the story of a Ghanaian turned American soldier, who returns home and find himself a victim of a sacred but deadly tradition. His friends and family struggle to free his innocent but naeve mind and body from the chains of his homeland.
